Location
Crystal Lake's historic downtown district is home to many local shops and businesses, as well as several cultural venues, including the Raue Center for the Performing Arts, which performs plays and hosts concerts throughout the year, including a Jazz Festival that has attracted performances by Tony Winners.
The downtown district boasts several restaurants, pubs and cafes,including local-favorite Duke's Alehouse and Kitchen – where you can catch some jazz or standup comedy with your meal.
Antique hounds will certainly not be disappointed in historic downtown, with such shops as Carriage House Antiques, Railroad Street Market and Postal Station Mall.
Crystal Lake Lake is surrounded by gorgeous rolling hills, dotted with several lakes and parks where numerous year-round seasonal events are held. The area's two largest parks are the 140-acre Veterans Acres, with a Nature Center and numerous nature trails, and Main Beach, on the banks of Crystal Lake, where the Main Beach Boat House rents canoes, rowboats, sailboats, paddleboats, kayaks and hydrobikes.
