The Fountains at RiverVue in Tuckahoe, New York

Location

Tuckahoe is a quaint village where the ease of Westchester County lifestyle blends with metropolitan living. A train ride will have you in New York City's Grand Central Terminal in only thirty minutes.

Part of the city of Eastchester, Tuckahoe shares with it a rich historical heritage. Eastchester began settlement in 1664 when ten families migrated from Fairfield, Connecticut. The "Eastchester Covenant" established laws for the area in 1665. The covenant was a rare document for this period. It contained 26 provisions, including education of children, upkeep of property and support of a minister.

In 1818 the Tuckahoe Marble Quarry opened and soon became a major producer of marble for the world. This marble was used in the New York City Hall, the Washington Memorial Arch, the General Post Office in Washington, DC, St. Patrick's Cathedral and the Washington Monument in Washington, DC.

Today, Tuckahoe enjoys a renaissance that has resulted in the redevelopment of many of its former commercial and industrial areas, as well as the new construction of residential, retail and medical office properties along Main Street.
