THUNDERBIRD RETIREMENT RESORT RESIDENT SKYDIVES AT AGE 95
Lester Potts, a 95-year-old resident of Thunderbird Retirement Resort in Glendale, leapt at the opportunity to fulfill his lifelong dream of skydiving. His wish to skydive was granted by Thunderbird Retirement Resort, in partnership with management company, Watermark Retirement Communities. A master jumper accompanied the first-time skydiver on the tandem jump at Phoenix Area Skydiving.
Lester’s lifelong dream of skydiving became a reality thanks to Thunderbird Retirement Resort’s resident services director, Debi Elder, who believes in the Watermark credo that encourages residents and associates to express their true selves. “Lester mentioned he had seen an 80-year-old woman skydiving on television, and that he wished he wasn't too old to make his dream of going skydiving come true.” Less than two months later, Lester, 95-years-young, did just that when jumped from a perfectly good airplane.
