Some of Our Friends

Jerry Zulli
If you should hear the crooning of a love song echoing through the halls of Blue Bell Place, you can bet that Jerry Zulli is in the house.  This lover of music comes to us from his native South Philadelphia, where he grew up not far from the home of Mario Lanza, and worked as a bricklayer with his pal, Al Martino, another south Philly music legend.

Our hard working resident has done everything from shine shoes during the depression years to selling the Inquirer in the subway.  After serving in the navy during World War II, Jerry married his beloved Gloria, a former ballet dancer who entertained many by dancing her way around the U.S.  They have the distinction of having three children who were all born on the same date – July 18th.  Amazing!

Jerry lives at Blue Bell Place with his two cats but still travels on occasion to South Philly to watch his favorite ball club, the Phillies.  Although his team has been disappointing, Jerry’s spirits never seem to waiver.  His optimistic personality brings joy to all at Blue Bell Place and we thank him for singing his way into our hearts!
