The Watermark at East Hill’s 8th Annual Strawberry Festival Is Just Around the Corner
           

WHAT: Guests and residents alike will have the opportunity to mingle and enjoy homemade strawberry shortcake prepared by professional chefs, and entertainment by singer-songwriter Willie Nininger at
The Watermark at East Hill’s 8th annual Strawberry Festival.

According to Resident Council President Barbara Hamlin, the festival brings together the surrounding community and showcases the fine culinary staff at The Watermark at East Hill. Guests can enjoy delicious food, beautiful ambience, delightful service and great company. In addition, guests will be given a taste of life at The Watermark at East Hill through tours of the newly renovated resident apartments.

Included is a strawberry recipe courtesy of The Watermark at East Hill that offers a sneak peak of the delicious desserts to be featured at the Strawberry Festival.

Strawberry Oat Bread
(Yield: 2 loaves)

3 Eggs
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Oil
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1 Cup Quick Cooking Oats
1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
½ Teaspoon Baking Powder
2 Cups Crushed Strawberries

Directions:
Grease and flour two 4x8-inch loaf pans.
In a large bowl, beat eggs, sugar, oil and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, cinnamon,
salt, baking soda and baking powder.
Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture.
Fold in the strawberries.
Pour the batter into the prepared pans.
Bake in a 350-degree oven for one hour or until
a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
