East Village Place Hosts A Father’s Day Car Show!
On Sunday, June 10th East Village Place, in celebration of Father’s Day, hosted their first ever Car Show. The parking lot was filled with mint condition classic cars. Residents, Families, Friends, Staff and Community Visitors ventured out to get an up close look at the cars. There were Model A Fords (some were almost 80 years old!), GTO’s, Classic Chevy’s, and more. Live 50’s music was a great addition to the day, as well as, Steamed Hot Dogs with all the fixins’, popcorn, and cotton candy. The day was such a success that the car owners and band all stayed an extra half hour as people continued to flood the parking lot following the smell of popcorn and the sounds of summer!

Pet Friendly
East Village Place is proud to be a “pet friendly” community. In fact, our mascot Buddy, an 8 year old Collie, Shepard mix, is the most popular Staff member around. He gets paid daily, that is, paid with treats, ear rubs and afternoon strolls. In return, Buddy is always able to bring a smile to everyone’s face. Even if you’re having a bad day, Buddy is always happy to see you and eager to brighten your day. You can’t help but smile when you see his playful prance coming down the hall and are greeted by his gentle eyes and doggy grin.

Daily, Buddy walks the halls with his owner, Executive Director Pam Skiba, and stops by to see all the dog lovers in the community. He pops in at activities and makes special “get well” visits to someone who may not be feeling great that day. Residents, Family Members, Associates and Visitors have all come to love Buddy and look forward to seeing him. When Buddy gets a well deserved “day off” of rest, he is greatly missed.

Buddy is not the only dog in town either! Many family members bring their beloved family pets to visit loved ones here at East Village Place. As well as a few residents who wouldn’t be able to call it home if they weren’t able to move-in with their cats. Plus, we must not forget our very lively fish tank located in our Wellness Center on the second floor!
