Memory Care And for family caregivers who need a helping hand, East Village Place offers respite care, a program that provides assistance for short stays on an as-needed basis. At East Village Place, we use a "Getting to Know You" program where family members and residents can work together to let caregivers and managers know all about the resident's past, likes and dislikes, interests, and abilities. We believe that truly knowing the residents who make their stay with us is the first step in providing the very best care for them. Caregivers trained specifically to provide compassionate dementia care for confused elders turn East Village Place into a home full of fond memories and future development. Our Activity Programs are specifically designed to appeal to different residents' strengths, interests, and abilities in order to promote memory and happiness among our vibrant community of residents who are living with dementia. Our Place Our Place is a unique residential program for those seniors who are just beginning to experience issues related to memory loss. This assisted living program is for those who worry that their memory is less sharp, whose memory problems prevent them from carrying out the normal activities of daily living, and for whom home may no longer be the best place. This program includes attention to regular physical exercise, good nutrition, and activities that stimulate the brain and support the strong long-term memory skills. The caring and comprehensive approach of Our Place can help stabilize, or slow down the progression of the senior’s memory loss. Our Place, named by the residents who live there, is a specially designed neighborhood, with continued access to all areas of East Village Place. Seniors become part of a small and intimate community of men and women who are experiencing the same levels of forgetfulness. In apartments sized for manageability, Our Place residents enjoy the comfort of their own belongings, and the privacy so important to their sense of dignity. The staff of Our Place is specially trained to support seniors with memory loss issues, as well as the assistance they may need with daily living activities.
