Adele Browing is an example of what obstacles can be overcome with perserverance and dedication to a rehailitation program.

Adele was an active member of the Immanuel community, living in an assisted living apartment when she sustained a hip fracture in February. She went through the trials of surgery and rehabilitation and returned to her apartment only to be challenged with such pain that she was forced to use a wheelchair much of hte time. An infection had occurred in her hip that made it necessary to go through the process again. To add to the challenge, Adele has faced the complication of Parkinson’s disease in addition to the acute pain of hip surgery.

After participating in physical and occupational therapy at the rehabilitation hospital, she came back to Immanuel to complete her therapy and sucessfully returned to he apartment walking again.

Just recently, Adele has begun a follow up program with physical therapy here at Immanuel and has achieved the goal of moving from an assisted living apartment to an Independent living apartment.
