David received his Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and mathematics from California State University at Dominguez Hills in 1985. He attended graduate school at California State University at Chico as a master’s candidate in the School of Computer Science, concentrating in management information systems.In 1988, he joined the Fountains team, serving as a troubleshooting and start-up specialist. David traveled to the communities that Fountains owned or managed and worked with the management team to implement Fountains systems, training, and culture.

David was promoted to Regional Director of Operations in 1992. In this capacity, he had direct reporting responsibilities for the community Executive Directors who were responsible for the day-to-day operations at the communities.David was promoted again in 1996, this time to Senior Vice President of Operations. In this capacity, he directed the development of operational standards, training programs, policies and procedures and systems for the organization.In 2003, David became President and sole shareholder of Fountains Retirement Communities of Arizona, Inc.
