The Fountains at La Cholla
Tucson, Arizona

FRC was involved in all aspects of financing, developing and managing this Congregate and Assisted Living Community. Market research was initiated in 1984 and the project opened December 1, 1987. Commonly referred to as FRC’s “flagship” community, The Fountains at La Cholla serves as a “test model” for many of the company’s ideas as well as a breeding ground for staff development. It presently contains 220 congregate living units and 42 Assisted Living units, and consistently maintains more than a 98 percent occupancy.

Project Sold

The Casitas at the Fountains
Tucson, Arizona

A eight-unit garden-home expansion to the existing The Fountains At La Cholla campus was completed in 1992. Designed to address the needs of the “independent” market segment, the casitas are larger, detached units with their own washers and dryers and other upgrades. The service package included with these rental units is slightly scaled down, including fewer community meals. This concept evolved over two years through focus group research. One hundred percent of the units were pre-leased and occupied within less than two months of opening.

1990-2005

The Hacienda at the Fountains
Tucson, Arizona

The Fountains’ Catered Living program serves a growing need among residents aging in place. Planned in 1993-94, the Hacienda is a 50-bed expansion to the existing Fountains at La Cholla campus. Called Desert Hacienda, this addition complements the existing program by adding units and common area spaces specifically designed for residents suffering from the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.
