The Benefits of Exercise and A Healthy Diet

On the 23rd of January Andre' Edwards, RN, MSN, NP from the Visiting Nurse Association did a presentation on "The Benefits of Exercise and A Healthy Diet".  Andre' spoke about the benefits of exercise, how often and the length of time you should exercise (150 minutes of heart pumping exercise). Brisk walking is considered one way to stay in shape and prevent or manage a wide range of health problems  Andre' talked about the long-term benefits from exercising and eating a healthy diet which consists of 50% Non-starchy vegetables, 25% Protein and 25% Grains and starchy foods.  Everyone enjoyed the lecture and the healthy snacks afterwards. Visiting Nurse Association will be having another lecture on "Heart Health" on February 20 at 2:00pm.  Family and friends are always welcome!
