Meet Our Executive Director: Sarah Ostrow

May 26 2022
Sarah Ostrow, the new Executive Director of The Watermark at West Palm Beach, has long had a passion for learning—and for working with seniors. Right out of high school, Sarah began pursuing her associate degree while working as a receptionist at an upscale continuing care retirement community, eventually moving up to administrative manager. She fell in love with the work and realized she had found her calling. After earning her degree in business, management, and marketing and still wanting to continue to advance her knowledge base, Sarah achieved her bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration for long-term care, earning her nursing home administrator's license in Cincinnati, Ohio. Shortly after, she followed her heart to West Palm Beach, an area she has always loved. Sarah is no stranger to adventure or traveling—her list of countries visited is currently at 17—and the cross-country move offered her a unique opportunity for both career growth and self-exploration at the same time. In the years to follow, Sarah's experience has ranged from serving as an Executive Director for Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing to an Administrator of Health Services for Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing. Sarah's passion for helping people doesn't stop there. The Covid-19 pandemic brought forth a unique opportunity for Sarah to become a Red Cross Volunteer, opening and closing COVID units during the height of the pandemic and supporting Assisted Living communities as Executive Director. Ultimately, her goal was to find a company to call home, one that prioritizes doing the right thing. That search may have ended with The Watermark at West Palm Beach, but Sarah's relentless pursuit of learning and growing hasn't stopped. She just recently completed her certification as an Alzheimer's Association support group leader. When she isn't busy with work, Sarah enjoys spending time on and in the water, from stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking to snorkeling and scuba diving. A vegan, she enjoys sampling West Palm Beach's vegan restaurants and leading an active lifestyle that includes yoga, playing tennis, working out, hiking, volunteering, and spending time in nature.
