Legacy at Grande'Vie Residents Take Flight!

October 02 2019
Today with great excitement, Legacy at Grande'Vie residents had the experience of a lifetime as they took flight lessons and flew a private plane through Wayne County! The Williamson Flying Club is an incorporated organization that supports flying activities for pilots and enthusiasts from the Lake Ontario region of Western/Central New York. They have one full time and several part time Flight Instructors that provide training for Private Pilot ratings. After a half hour flight training session, three of our lucky residents had the opportunity to fly a four person private plane. Residents were able to bring one guest to fly with them at no charge. Family members and Legacy at Grande'Vie associates were lucky enough to share this special experience with the residents! Starting the flight, residents completed safety checks on the plane with the instructor before heading out to the runway for takeoff. Residents steered the plane through Wayne County while enjoying the beautiful sights of Sodus bay, Lake Ontario, and the Bluffs. After flying for a half hour, residents navigated back to the runway and landed the plane on their own. What a wonderful experience this was for our residents, as they are looking forward to flying again soon!
