ALOHA Fridays

July 03 2019

What is Aloha Friday? In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is a day of the week where locals start there weekend by dressing in casual wear and get ready to relax after a busy work week. The beauty of Aloha Friday is that it can be celebrated any day of the week, but here at Fremont Hills, we like to keep that tradition of celebrating on Fridays. Each week we will prepare a different type of momona (sweet treat) and serve them with tropical punch while the residents enjoy na mea pa'ani (games) and share stories. Staff and residents are encouraged to wear their Aloha shirt, commonly referred to as a Hawaiian shirt. It is a style of dress shirt originating in Hawaii. They are often brilliantly colored with floral patterns or generic Polynesian motifs. If you are ever in the neighborhood on a Friday at 3:00pm, please pop in to share in this fun Ohi Ohi'ana (gathering) Mahalo!
