The Watermark at Marco Island was recently featured in an article published by the Coastal Breeze News for its efforts in keeping seniors active and engaged, thanks to the unveiling of a new outdoor gym.
As part of its grand opening, the community donated a Thrive 900 structure, which contains 20 different fitness stations, to a nearby park, allowing their Assisted Living and Memory Care members to enjoy all of their natural surroundings.
“We've seen their spirits really light up and come to life because of this amazing space right next to us,” said Executive Director Robyn Johnson. “It's really huge to see a whole family burst into tears standing outside that green space because they realize that their husband and their dad and their loved one is reconnecting to nature again for the first time.”
