Our appetite for learning can help us find meaning and purpose in life. It can also provide a sense of personal empowerment and boost self-esteem. At The Watermark Westwood Village, we’re committed to offering a variety of continuing education opportunities. That’s why we’ve partnered with the UCLA Longevity Center, which offers a host of classes, events, and memory care programs.

Through our relationship with UCLA’s Longevity Center, residents have access to research-based enhancement classes to gain a better understanding of the science behind memory building. They’ll engage in interactive learning and practice to enhance cognitive abilities. Some recent virtual memory programs include Memory Training, a course that teaches proven memory-enhancing techniques that address common everyday memory concerns, and Brain Boot Camp, a 90-minute class that offers individualized healthy-aging lifestyle programs, tips for a healthy heart and brain diet, and advanced memory techniques for learning and recalling names and more.

There is also the Sharper Mind Series, which focuses on the formula for living better, longer. It focuses on physical activity, nutrition, stress, sleep, and cognitive training. Our community is also developing new ways to support and engage with UCLA’s researchers and students who are studying active aging. Learning is a lifelong endeavor that can help us understand the world around us and improve our quality of life in a myriad of ways.
